    My "first" chop

I used Gimp...pretty hard at first but got used to it

here is a Honda Element SC: darker windows, paint, wheels, and a new grille. Plus tinted lights I just fooled around with it a lot!

You need to work on your blacking out skills.

Pretty decent for a first chop though.

Using a larger brush and following back over those black out areas with an eraser to define the edges would make it more even. Not too shabby tho for a first shot with Gimp..I still have not got a real handle on it yet !...but it does have some nice features similar to PS, still I prefer Alais Sketchbook over any other program. You may want to dload a trial version of that too...it is very easy to learn and fast to use compared to other programs.

Hey-hey-hey! Keep Gimping Gtek-i, you'll get better and better very fast!

What I always find useful is using the point-to-point tool (could be called something else) by pressing "b". Click around the body, then go to the main Gimp console and select "Create Selection from Path". Now copy the selected body.
Create a new layer, paste in the body and voila. If you want to change the color of the car, just select the layer containing the body and presto. I'll send you those Gimp tutorials soon as well.

It looks good from across a darkened room, wearing sunglasses, after 6 vodkas, with a broken monitor, and if I had no eyes.

I was thinking the same thing exactly...

But seriously though, it looks like you used a little too much black when you look at the orig. pic. and your chop. actually it looks like you just blacked out everything. what is Gimp btw? keep practicing, you will get better.

The Gimp is the best, most advanced, most superior, unrivaled, super-duper Kooper-approved free (as in Open Source) image editing software money can't buy.

    More here.

yup. The Gimp is the most powerful free image editing software there is. Kind of like the Google Sketchup of the image editing world. Really great, but not as good as what lots of $$$ can buy.

That's more to get one leg buzzed, leaving the rest of the body still sober.
