F'in weird picture, man. Not sure the last time someone entered a picture of themselves masturbating...? There's no grossed out smiley to insert, so will have to do.
He came dancing across the water
    With his galleons and guns
    Looking for the new world
In that palace in the sun
    On the shore lay Montezuma
With his cocoa leaves and pearls

    Thanks!

No, he is not jerking. There are better places than a cold bathroom floor for that.

I posted that picture in two different photography sites and received something like 100 comments. Nobody interpreted the photo in that way.

You guys have dirty and teenage minds! haha

P.S. -Anyway, it's nice to have different interpretations.

Being a teenager, I would hope I do.

Ok, really though, what is he doing? What is that liquid on the sink? Why is the picture there? What is this photo supposed to ivoke in the viewer?

I'm sure I'm missing something, since everyone else has found it a great picture, but I just can't figure it out.

About the teenager part, it was just a joke. Don't get it too serious.
The picture is not great, just a picture i like and i think is not bad at all.
About the conceptualism, i never like to explain it because anyone can make their own interpretation of the photo.
It pretends to be tragic and a little fun at same time, because "the green thing" doesn't kill.

Just to basic ideas: mounthwash for love pain; the guy is dead and lying on the floor.

No, rarely i like HDR photos (with bad treatment).
Just 5 different lights in the bathroom iluminating the scene, to get a good dynamic range and to avoid hard shadows i didn't wanted here.

i saw it on your flickr gallery, pretty good stuff! do you do it just for a hobby or a job etc? And do you own a broad range of lighting equipment? alot of the shots appear to be achieved using professional lighting, if i may say so.

    Thank you, Cotterik.
I do it for hobby and also some professional works of motorsports, with McReis.
About the lighting, i wish i had some equipment but it is too expensive and i prefer to buy lenses. Just have a Speedlite 420EX.
In that photo i used normal lights with home-made diffusers and two reflectors made of white paper.

P.S.- Thanks for the visit on my flickr gallery. Do you also have one?

I should try that out sometime, I'm going to have a shot at a homemade whitebox. They seem really effective. And yeah i have a flickr gallery, just to show people test photos, and for use at college: http://www.flickr.com/photos/cotterik/

Only just stepped into the DSLR world so still getting used to it really. Keep up the great work!

I added you as a friend on flickr btw

I know I am not alone in this comp. Many do (or I think do). And for your information a RAW-file HAS to be edited, before iyou can post it.

Look carefully, do you see any major edits ? I dont. Because I didnt do much.

This might be a good tip for anyone with a Fuji. The odd .raf files can be opened and edited by the latest version of Photoshop, CS3. It is a big improvement over the S7RAW programme, which was so far the only compatible one.

It's not the matter of being a major or minor edit, the point is not editting at all.

    RAW Conversion is allowed, IIRC.
