Renault's 2007 Livery: Hot or Not?

The R27 is out with a radically new livery: white is predominant over the traditional blue, the traditional blue is replaced with a darker shade, there is an orangy yellow, and it all comes in irregular patterns (see attachment)... at least they are going to be easy to recognize far away.

So what do you think? (use poll)

Personally, I think it's not so pretty...

I'd like to see some more form over function in F1. The cars all look exactly the same to me except for the colours.

And yes, I agree this colour scheme is fugly. The blue/yellow was much nicer.

Very, very much NOT hot. That's got to be one of the worst liveries I've seen in F1 for a long time. It's like they've taken two totally different designs and just mashed them together. It's a mess.

It's such a shame because the interim livery they had on when the R27 first started testing the other week looked great...

Those dark colours really showed off the car's curves well. It could have been a really pretty car, but the sponsor's $$$ takes precedence over good looks sadly.

Oh, and if you thought the car livery was bad check out the drivers' race suits...

Of course the 'traditional' blue is only from the Mild Seven Benetton days from mid-1990's onwards. Renault's 'traditional' colours are yellow and white as used by the factory F1 team of the '70s / '80s.

Nonetheless, the 2007 livery is pretty awful, a mishmass of different colours and patterns completely lacking in coherance. The addition of ING really does look like an afterthought (even though they came on board some time ago) - you'd think there has been plenty time to integrate their colours with whatever factory scheme they had in mind, but apparently not. And the darker blue, formerly Telefonica, doesn't fit this year at all.

So overall, in my opinion, one of the messiest liveries on the grid.

McLaren show how it can be done, an overall silver-black-red colour scheme with the sponsor logos (but not colours) properly integrated. Although personally I don't care for this years Vodaphone version.

    Mind you, if it's quick...

Ugly. The interim scheme was cool. Last year scheme was cool. Not this. Orange is a lovely color but it just don't fit there. White/yellow/blue would be ok.

Well, i didn't expect much different to be honest. The main sponsor being ING Direct the white and orange seemed an obvious choice. I didn't expect them to use some blue aswell, that has ruined the design.

2 colors looks good if they complement each other nicely, however when you have 5 colors on a suite or a car it just looks way too busy. At least it will be easy to pick out of a crowd.

I like it. I wouldn't call it beautiful, but its nice because its very flashy and loud. It stands out. HERE is a gallery until they're posted in the hideout.

My favorite "livery" was that used by Ferrari for the first run of the 248 F1 last year. No sponsors, some black, some white and red.

I think it's most definitely awful. What were they thinking?
