    1.8T re-map

Did anybody (especialy Quiggs) know about a late life 1.8T Re-Map being given by Audi dealerships when cars were in their workshops?

New software gets released for cars all the time. Some of it's as simple as stuff for the radio, but sometimes it's as major as changing fuel map and timing curves.

I've never heard of an increase in power from a dealer-installed remap, but it's possible. I can ask on Monday when I go to work.

That must feel a little underpowered in something as big as an A6.

Probably, but it has more torque than a normally aspirated 150bhp-ish engine, so that should help not feeling that slow.

It wasn't all that bad, it was fairly nippy, when we sold it the engine was putting out 158bhp

If it was a 1.8T it was more like 1580000000bhp...

I wonder how good the 1.8TFSI is

    1.8T/1.8TFSI owns Bugatti Veyron 16.4W16

    Try this.

I suppose this will be a much better option than the 2-litre normally aspirated engine it replaces.

The 1.8 TFSI signals the market debut of a new family of engines and combines the evolution of the TFSI concept with an entirely new basic engine.
So the 1.8TFSI is a completely new motor, not just a 20 valve 1.8T with FSI added to the mix?

I remember reading somwhere that it was a destroked, turbocharged 2.0 FSI.

For the record the new engine displaces 1798cc and the old one 1781cc, so they are not the same engine.
