It's available at normal Shell stations, but not many actually sell it. I know of only one station in Canberra that sells it. But basically every servo sells 98RON fuel.Originally Posted by rev440

just for reference there is a huge difference between a SBC motor, an LS1/2/7 ect or even an LT1. that being said 550 horse is possible but you will probably be running race gas and have a crazy cam in it. high ram intake, ect ect. i guess what im trying to say is its possible but probably not very streetable.
My rides:
1999 Mustang GT
1974 Ford Country Squire (for sale!)
1991 Jeep Cherokee
1970 Shelby GT500
yup 550 from a 383- easy...
hot rod magazine and car craft have built a few of these, using a 4 bolt main block (ZZ4) and good heads and a cam.
some one (Air flow research) pulled 434 hp out of a 5.0 stock short block 5.0 ford (302 cu in) so 81 more cubes in the 383 and all could net you the HP target of 550- jeez hot rod built a 350 in summer 2003- 522.9 peak hp @6600 rpm and 454 lb-ft of torque at 5200 rpm
using 58 cc cylinder heads, and victor jr, intake and an 850 cfm carb!
NASCAR motors at 357-360 cu in, make 750 hp or more...
we got most of the rust welded up today and tomorow we do rockers and start doing filler.
Hell anythings streetable as long as you dont get after it. As for the 100 octan pump gas, that would allow you to run what 12:1-12.5:1? I bet those cars have crazy setups.Originally Posted by Juggs

And think about it...that's just the dynamic compression. With a radical cam, that could even mean a static compression of 15:1...of course, with that much overlap you'd lose your streetability and you'd have to take pains to have enough vacuum left over even to run a brake booster.
An it harm none, do as ye will
