    Best truck to turn awesome?

Alright well i might (big might) have a '92 VR4 in june but thats still very doubtful. So im looking into somthing else id like to drive around in.

If i cant get my monster, i want a different kind of monster. Im talkin pickups...(im texas so its kinda required haha)
I want a semi-older (80-90's) 4WD preferably manual trans. truck i can put some lifts on, some fogs, and make it into a mean lookin and sounding automobile. Going mudding on those rainy days is in the requirements.

I've looked into older F-150's, Rams, 1500s and Sierras and cant figure out which one would be best? Any suggestions? Any one with first hand experience? Thanks in advance

Awesome choice but is it humanly possible to find one at a bargain price in good condition?

I doubt it but you could always buy a good condition '70 El Camino and put a 454 crate engine in there.

See if you can get hold of an early '90s Chevy Silverado or GMC Sierra. Those look absolutely freakin' awesome with a nice lift kit, some 34 tires and a bull bar. A bit redneck, but awesome all the same!
