I comment that this should be under CAR COMPARISON!
The statistics on sanity are that one out of every four Americans is suffering from some form of mental illness. Think of your three best friends. If they're okay, then it's you.

    Changed.

As for the question at hand, I don't really see the comparison between the two. They're both "Supercars", but totally different in style and execution (not to mention price aswell).

Ever going to make a thread that doesn't involve Porsche?
I remember some of your older threads/posts...really gave Porsche fans a bad name.

Audi humbles Porsche. A new dawn starts today.

    Being nice since 2007.

Of the two, I like neither.

The Porsche has a lot of "engineering marvel" going on, but has a rubbish clutch, looks like some sort of squashed pick-up truck, and its "on limit" handling is apparently a bit temperamental.

The 599 would be a nice GT, except the attention to detail on the exterior doesn't exist, being a Ferrari, they've needlessly filled it to the gills with irrelevant F1 "technology", slapped lots of tacky-looking, shiny carbon fibre bits in the driver's eyeline, and everyone under the age of 12 will think you're some sort of God, whilst everyone over the age of 12 will think you're a Toss Pot. (The same applies to the CGT, so I guess that cancels out.)

A GT, with the same layout and proportions of the 599, with the V12, a proper manual, a decent interior and a chassis that doesn't need a half-tonne of electronic tat to keep it pointing straight.

In fact; I seem to be describing a DB9, so one of those please.

Wow someone giving a bad name to Porsche compared to possibly the most fanboyised brand in the world... it's going to be a tough battle...
Lack of charisma can be fatal.

    Carrera GT

Pininfarina of late has become blind
their recent designs(599, Gran Turismo, 612) are hideous
The new Ferraris are an insult to their predessecors.
    They are awful.

agreed, but i do like the 599. and i would gladly take one. i think the real answer though would be to have one of each. a db9 for going out on the town, and a 599 for track days.

Thank you. Thank you. Pininfarina are crazy. The only recent car that I like is the Birdcage 75th (which I think is sensational). The 599 is not to pretty and it seems like a pretty standard selection of people agree with that.

DB9 for going out on the town, and a DBRS9 for track days.

The "RS" is only £4,000 more than the Ferrari, after-all.

    Their engines are good.

    Not much else is, unfortunately.
