The 206 CC (which is about to be replaced by the 207 CC) costs from 19.260 € to 21.640 € here. It has a 1.6-litre (109bhp) or 2-litre (136bhp) petrol or a 1.6-litre diesel (109bhp).

    The 307 CC which is a slitghtly bigger four seater costs from 23.960 € to 30.490 €. It has a 1.6-litre (109bhp) and a pair of 2-litre (140bhp and 180bhp) petrol engines or a 2-litre diesel (136bhp).

    Pictures show a 206 CC, a 207 CC and a 307 CC.

Is it the 2.0 V6? Is Arese an Italian word?

Arese is where the Alfa Romeo factory used to be. This engine, which started life as a 2.5-litre unit in 1979 has had 4 displacement variants (excluding tuner variations), the aforementioned 2.5-litre, a 2-litre turbo due to Italy's regulations which heavily taxated engines over 2000cc (that's why some Ferraris and Lamborghinis of the 70's and 80's had 2-litre versions) a 3-litre and finally the 3.2-litre lately found in the GTA versions amongs other cars. This engine is also sometimes refered as the Busso V6 (in regard to the engineer which designed it) or simply the Alfa Romeo V6. The new HF V6 used by the new Alfa Romeos (159 and Brera) has nothing to do with it.

I don't think they will do well at the start unless the marketing is really done well...Americans probably won't welcome French cars...

Here the cheapest V6 engined 407 Coupe costs 37.900 €. I'm surprised that french cars are cheaper in Spain than they are in France...

I don't know much about Peugeot, but I like they way they look, and try to be open minded about such thinds. I'd imagine the only barrier would be how expensive they would be here. I assume importation costs would raise the prices a fair amount-say, 2-4K.

Yeah but you can substract the 20% average sales tax.

Yeah, thanks for making me feel stupid. They would actually end up being fairlt competively priced. They should be cheaper than German cars and more interesting than American and Japanese cars.

Well, I wouldn't mind them over here. However, they must do it right (advertising, stuff like that) or else if they flop, it'll cost millions.

Hmmm, a properly rebuilt (it is an old Italian turbo afterall) one of those, in an old GTV coupe, maybe with a Junior front, and a 6spd,

Hit the nail on the head.

You know, I like to think of myself as an openminded person. Hell, openminded even for a Canadian (:P) but I have to agree with ScionDriver about this. Release a French car in the States, and as Cotterik says:

Think of it this way guys from Europe: The Big Three American companies each release their SUV's to europe. That would be a bad busisness move. Selling Peugeots in America? That is a monster of a mistake. Even if the cars are superior to their Korean / Japanese / American competitors - I highly doubt anyone will buy them. PerfAdv has it right. There already is a lot of cars at the bottom, and knowing that us North Americans are sterotypically xenophobes, will they have a hope in hell of selling?
