Geely Concept Images - O RLY?

This is hilarious. You've got to love these Chinese car makers. Geely has released new 'concept' images that not only rip off Lexus, but Ford as well. I found an article on Autoblog which points out that the new concepts are just photoshopped Lexus IS cars. As Autoblog points out, they didn't even bother to change the wheels.



Something I noticed, which neither Autoblog or anyone else seem to notice, is that they've also photoshopped an official Ford Fusion sketch. Focus on the A-Pillars if you're having trouble seeing the similarities:



While we've all seen the Chinese ripping off designs before, I've never seen concept images that are blatantly photoshopped rip-offs. The choppers here on UCP could do a better job than what Geely did.

How can they be so careless? If Geely can't even DRAW original designs, then they shouldn't be in the industry.

Meh. China is already full of cheap products. Why not produce cheap car ripoffs too!

Come to think of it, my comment was a bit harsh. I'm just thinking about the incredible quantity of cheap products made in China. They should try to produce their own designs for their cars, it's a bit unfair just copying already existing designs.

I saw the similarities but honestly, it looks fine IMO.interior's crap thou.

BTW, there are alot of manufacturers in China, Geely is one of the craps that I hoped it get freakin sued by Euro & US . There are others that don't rip off designs thou.

That car isn't too bad. Those photoshopped Geely's, however, aren't that great

Well, considering their homegrown products (for fun's sake I'm assuming at least one of these may be a clean-sheet design, but I'm almost certainly mistaken) I'd say they need all the help they can get.
