Has anyone ever seen this before?

it answers a surprisingly lot of correct questions, kinda creepy...but it seems to work in little spurts of correctness...anyone have any idea how it works?

Well, this is kinda like a major thing to accomplish in computer science. A computer that can answer any question like a human would. I have interacted with another one like this called Alice and you can see that there is a long way to go before the goal is achieved. Alan Turning was into this stuff:

I asked 5 different questions, not 1 was actually answered. The most interesting reply I got was this:

Peter answers: My soul will rest under your bed tonight.

The question was 'What is the Websters dictionary definition of photosynthesis?' So much for answering questions correctly...

what i mean by basic:

Alice: what's your favourite film

me: i think Apocalypse Now is my favourite film because it challenges the idiosyncratic view that there is a distinct paradigm conflict between the state moral and the potential darkness of the human soul.

Alice: tell me more about your favourite

It was a trick apparently, no woner i couldnt get it to work.

basically, heres what you do (i figured it out) ask your friend what they want to ask, then click in the "inquery" box. Type a "." this will who up as the P in their suggested phrase "Peter, please answer:"then type the answer to the question they want you to ask, (this will show up as the rest of the phrase, it won't show the asnwer, so your friends will think you are typing the question out) type another "." and then complete the phrase "peter, please answer:" (or if your answer is long, "Peter, please answer the following question:" and now it will automatically go to the next box, type in the question your friend wanted answered, and make sure it ends with a "?" and hit enter. It will show the answer you typed in.

For example:

Me: What do you want it to ask?
Friend: what color shirt am i wearing?

I would type: ".white.please answer:"
It would show: "Peter, please answer:"

then it would put the cursor in the next box and I would type "What color shirt am I wearing?" and hit enter, it would reveal my answer.

does that make sense? try it.

it didnt seem stupid when i couldnt figure out how it was working, but yes, now it does.

ALICE is weird. I asked it about it's personality and it gave me the RAM requirements for running its program, along with its favorite hockey team. Wow, you're so realistic. I wonder how much RAM it takes to run me.
