The sad end to Jeremy Clarkson's "SS" Merak

Remember that "buy an Italian sportscar for less than 10 thousand" challenge on Top Gear?

If you didn't then well... Jeremy Clarkson bought a Maserati Merak "SS" that was total piece of crap and it later turned out it wasn't even a SS; it was really a stock one.

James May bought a Lamborghini Urraco that broke down everywhere and nearly survived the challenge but broke down and created a traffic jam.

Richard Hammond bought a Ferrari 308 and that died near the end.

Anyway... 1-2 years later... eurospares somehow acquired Clarkson's shitty Merak and is planning to break it down into "parts". It also turns out the bottom end of the engine was blown... Oh well... I'd buy the seats so I can perform a bad Jeremy Clarkson impersonation in my living room.

Strangely, it's been sitting there for over a year.

Apparently some parts are already on an Australian restoration.

It's not really a "sad" end. The car was obviously a complete heap of shit, and now is serving some purpose to keep good Meraks going

If there are any good ones
The statistics on sanity are that one out of every four Americans is suffering from some form of mental illness. Think of your three best friends. If they're okay, then it's you.

The Merak was slower than my mother's Toyota minivan.

Out of all the ridiculous tall guys with curly hair choices, I'd rather impersonate the Hoff. If at least W had curly hair...
Money can't buy you friends, but you do get a better class of enemy.
