    China's property law

China's "parliament" has just passed a law legally recognising personal property. This isn't full ownership, but brings it to equal status to state owned.

This does run the risk of allowing the less scrupulous to make land grabs but should also allow the poor to get recompensed for land taken by the state for roads etc.

The Chinese government should be congratulated for passing this law.

The vast majority (80%-90%) of my personal property is made in China. I hope the Chinese government recognises that as well.

....in other news the chinese have found a new powersource to fuel their ever-increasing demand for energy. Simply dubbed "Mao-Spin", the fuel source, the government said, is 100% biodegradeable, easy to harness and is already powering 100,000 Beijing homes......

This is pretty big news, one must say.
