There's tutorials in the game, including a Finnish one. Just go to the home page through the file button on top of the page, and the collection of tutorials is on the right side of the page.

When the game is started, the game calculates the results of the qualification. Before that you should have tested to get a proper setup and decided on the quali strategy, i.e. at what time you're going out and how risky you want to try. In the F1 2006 seasons the qualification was simplified so that there was just three laps instead of the whole three session system, I don't know whether that's the case with the new F1 2007 seasons. But that's easy to check in the quali strategy screen.

The race is 24 hours after the qualification and the next qualification also 24 hours after the race.
