Well, I've been doiing some research on this car and the story is sketchy at best. Apparently it was a joint effort between Bill Blydenstein Racing and Nissan, and they created Nissan Team Europe to campaing Nissans in selected round of the World, European and British Rally Championship.
To that effect they created the Nissan 240 RS, which would be built in Japan then shipped to the British Isles for final preparation. They were actually shipped to Nothern Ireland and registered there since there was apparently a loophole that allowed registration there and use in Europe without having to get and another type approval document - that's why most 240 RSs carried Nothern Ireland number plates.
And that's where it gets sketchy, because while technically considered works cars, apart from Bill Blydenstein/Nissan Team Europe cars Nissan also campaigned Japanese registered 240 RS cars in some African events. So I don't know if Nissan ran a parallel Japanese structure or not...
I also recall seeing documents in website which stated that the actual base for the 240 RS was an obsucre version of the Silvia with the FJ24 engine, but without the flared wheel arches and bumpers of the actual rally car, but I can't find it anymore...
Finally some rather small pictures of road going BS110 cars, including an early prototype.
