1995 Honda Prelude: Is there a difference in power of the Japanese engines?

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if there is a difference between the American Vtec and the Japanese Vtec engines? I've seen them being called H22a and H22a1 engines.. Is one the US version and one the Japanese version or is it just different versions of the Prelude like the Si Vtec and SiR Vtec? one seems to be rated at 190 HP and the other at 200 HP. Just wonder which one I have...

no, the japanese just didn't have the 133hp basic engine that was available in europe. the japanese had 2 versions of the 2.2 litre vtec engine with 160 & and 200 hp.
if you want to find out which one is yours, look into your registration or try to find somekind of engine identification number stamped on the engine.
engine codes are:
bb1/bb4=200hp 2.2 vtec (bb4 perhaps is no vtec)
ba8/ba9=160hp 2.2 vtec

Thanks for the reply Mäusekino! I just checked out my registration and it is a BB4. It is most definitely a Vtec in the car so by your explanation it is a 200HP Vtec. Thanks for the info!
