imo the DC2 ITR is harder to drive fast in that it's more focused, it is a bit hardcore for your average daily driver too sometimes.... since they are close in terms of speed, and whatever choice will be used everyday, i'd vote the WRX (and it has 2 extra doors)
Andreas Preuninger, Manager of Porsche High Performance Cars: "Grandmas can use paddles. They aren't challenging."
ITR is slightly winning, it is my pref but you cant get an unmodded, low k and good condition ITR for under 20k, the WRX on the other hand would be so much more convieneant(luggage space,4dr) but attract way more cops, yet i can probably get into one for about 18k.

It's gotta be the 200SX mate. It'll go forever as long as you take care of it, very light, good engine, brilliant handler.
^^ Yeah everyone knows the red ones are faster, and that 200SX even more rapido ...
Or maybe Motor mag's PCOTY, from $16k up

I had writen a long answer but my IP let me down so here goes the executive summary:
Get the WRX, it's best suited to average australian conditions, much better than hatch backs are. Get the 200 SX if you want to get into drifting...
Zag when they Zig
I don't know about the rest of the world, but in the US, ITR's are expensive to insure since they tend to "go missing" late at night. They're also hard to find unmolested. Too bad, since they're generally regarded as the best handling FWD car ever. After the AXB and any 1.8T powered autos, of course.

always been a huge fan of the A4 V6(cousin's got one thats lowered, wheels, subtle bodykit, remus exhaust, chip etc) looks sweet and handles like a dream. Its just hard to find one thats low k and good condition plus apparently the electrics are shot with older models. Would never touch a saab unless it was maybe a 9-3 vigen but from what im told they have hell understeer. The lexus is nice but to underpowered, really refined but not what im after. cheers
