Thanks for posting that, Colin- really sheds light, doesn't it?

I'm still sticking with the last option.

MP thats way more drastic an editing technique than any of us would ever be prepared to apply.

It's not that drastic... Image>adjustments>selective color.

Not drakkie apparently. since he had one orange car and entered a puke colored one.

No i know it wouldn't get votes i was just showing how with my shitty PS skills i can change a red car to a purple one pretty simply.

I kinda liked the purple effort, particularly the 'burst effect around the edges...

I meant its drastic compared to what I'm saying the rules in the comp should allow.

It would be detrimental to DSLR users who shoot using RAW mode, as there is no processing applied to the files, hence:

That's only valid if you shoot in JPEG mode.

Which I do, I don't feel like messing with RAW nor spending the $100 on a good converter when i could put the $100 towards my new dvd player for my truck.

But then why not set your processing parameters in the camera? Also RawShooter Essentials is free, very good, and is easy and quick to use.

Because you have alot better controls and better results doing sharpening/contrast/etc on PS.

    I'll look into RAWShooter.

aye haven't seen that debate before

i'm of the opinion that digital era photography evolved in comparison to the analogue times and it is so much different; one of the differences is that computer editing is INTEGRAL part of photography now, hence i think it should be allowed. some people don't know much about editing pics - me included - it's their loss, it's the same as making a bad composition or choosing bad lighting

I still think the rules are fine as they are now, with a little bit of contrast, cropping, B&W conversions and resizing as the only allowable edits.

    lolz ur funniez.

I got the point, but the way it came off as it's like saying Jackson Pollack was a great painter, but does that mean all artwork should be made with random paint splatters? It's too bad your point sucks.

    Just following your lead.

My point is that editing or post processing, has been as much a part of photography as taking the photo itself for as long as photography has existed - more so with digital photography. And yet it on ultimatecarpage.com it is considered cheating. I don't see the logic.
