Falcon Xr8. with the old Windsor v8 in it. Particulary the Ts50 with the 5.6l Windsor. yum. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=42brd...elated&search=

or pretty much any HSV with a v8. drool.

EDIT: then again the 5.4l Boss isn't too bad either! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZOjrf7Iu1aE&NR=1

I'm going to vote for the best noise as being less than foot away from a V8 Supercar hanging over the pit wall as it goes past at 200kmh.

I always find pod filters cold air intakes make a large difference, Also some type of home made pipe to the air box.. But when all fails exstracters exhaust...
Got the $$$ Cam pistons roller rockers twin throttle body.. If carby powered you miss out j/k's . Webber's sound good on carby engines.

Generally the more cylinders the better the sound. Yet there are huge differences between a 6-cyl (soft woof woof) Jaguar XK engine, or a whopping V-8. Personally I'd go for a V-8, since its offbeat rumble has something very primeval about it. What's really interesting about many V-8's, especially those with short exhausts, is that there is a sound difference between flooring and releasing the throttle. Anyway, there are many more engines which sound amazing. It all depends on number of cylinders, cylinder size, exhaust shape, injection or carbs, angle of cylinder banks. Since most of us know very well what V-8's sound like, I would recommend anyone to listen to a BRM or Auto Union V-16. Some time ago I saw a Murciélago creeping by in traffic. It could be heard from half a mile away, and I noticed its unusual exhaust shape. I looked into this and found out it was a Murciélago with a Capristo exhaust...HIGHLY RECOMMENDED (and totally politically incorrect). If you ever see anyone driving this, ask them to gun it!
