Really? I always thought it was Japanese.

And the Lexus thing is somewhat understandable since until 2005 they were only sold in the US.

Funny, so did I. I remember seeking through GT2 for cars who had the "i" icon, so that I could read their informations. Good times when I had nothing better to do!

But anywho, as Mr Tiv says the average Joe in the street (in any country) probabaly doesn't really give damn about where car companies come from, so it's not hugely suprising. I wonder how many non-car enthusiasts in Europe would know that Hyundai is Korean. And how many average Europeans would know that LG is Korean. Heck, my phone is an LG, and I didn't know (or care) where the company came from until I read that article.
Are you kidding me?? What your saying is that Lamborghini, Bentley, and Bugatti are German just because they are part of the Volkswagen-Audi group? Land Rover is British and Lexus is Japanese, enough said. I don't understand how anyone can think a British or a Japanese brand is American just because they are owned by an American automobile company or only sold in America.

But they are owned by and created by Toyota............................................ ., so it's not really understandable in any way. I might as well say Honda is an American brand just because some of their cars are assembled in the USA (joke).

We all know that Lexus is Japanese and LR British, they're just trying to explain why it could be taken differently by those less knowledgeable of the subject.
