I don't have any dyno charts, but I've read reviews and talked to people who say there's a noticeable difference when driving between 98, 95 and 91.

Thats so stupid any one can claim this. I can talk to people who say the fastest car in the world is the skyline and a hayabuse does 251 out of the box but they dont. The only true lie detector is the dyno.

They are alot more fool proof then judging the speed of a car by the seat of your pants.

Dyno's are good if you're talking figures, certainly.

but there ain't no substitute for how a car feels. and there is really only one way of determining that.

I would agree with you on that with suspension, different tires and what not. But with something such as gas that would possibly have the engine make more horsepower then surely it would show up on a dyno.

why would they claim that their power figures were achieved with 98ron then it clearly says in advertisements all power figures obtained using 98 ron premium fuel

Actually I've read reviews where the journalist said that measuring the performance with 95 made no difference to the performance measured with 98, though I don't know if perhaps sustained use of 95 could end up damaging engines designed for 98.

Simple because they want their engines to run on the max octane they can. For instance how much horse does a LS2 Holden make in your country?

    307kw...414hp?
maybe it's anti-legislation campaigning to prevent them being sued by peoiple who wreck their engines with 91 octane

Normal 91RON won't wreck the engines as all Holden engines have knock sensors.
