    '56 Oval [NOM]

    Howdy, again.

This is something I've been working on for the best part of 2007. I've been
playing around with bugs and "rat look" -ideas for well over a year now and
I've still got a bunch of unfinished bug chops that you probably won't see
    me posting.

This is sort of a goodbye chop from me. As some of you know I'll be fulfilling
my military service starting this Monday (which is why I had to rush the chop).

About the actual chop - it is (loosely) based on a late 50's oval I found on
the Vortex (credits to the original photographer and/or owner, sorry for ruining
your ride). Apart from parts of the front bumper, the license plate and the
rusty headlight surroundings everything is brushed. I used dozens of low-res
reference pictures for various details and accessories but that's it. Started out
with a flat black paintjob (without any rust or dents) but the clean body panels
didn't match the rusty bumper and lights so I had to improvise. The rust and
dents are all brushed, including the details on the sun visor and roof rack. Still
not sure about the actual "rust pattern" as it was really rushed. I originally
went for a caricature type of look but ended up being a tad more realistic than
what I originally aimed for. I'm sure I could have done a much better job if I
had another week or two but oh well.

    C&C is welcome.

Wow, that rust is done really well. Looks realistic and it looks as if it really was used and abused.

Awesome stuff Nom! The only problems I see, if there even are any, is that the big patch of rust on the front fender looks a tad bit fake, and the rear tire is a bit blurry. However, since the chop is 'caricature' based, it just looks ace.
