What are the top 10 quickest forms of racing. Eg.. F1, IRL etc.
    Exclude drag racing.

Do you mean quickest or fastest?

Fastest doing what? Changing tires, cutting corners, flying through the air? You need to be a little more specific.

If you mean fastest by overall speed, I guess Nascar and oval racing since the drivers average about 190Mph constantly.

yeah, but if you would let loose a current LMP1 car or an F1 car on an oval, the balance might tip the other way....it all depends on the gearing..

I suppose so. I've heard F1s are very, very fast cars when setup for speed instead of racing circuits.

yep, they can, but on the other hand the engines are not developed for continuous full throttle, so they need to be tuned down to withstand permanent high speeds. They may have to fiddle with the wings a little also, in order to reduce air resistance. On a one lap basis though the current ones would be unbeatable. If i remember correctly Honda tried to establish a high speed record last year at Bonneville, but I don't remember what they actually achieved.

It'd be interesting to see how the F1 guys do on ovals if they set up the car for it - I have a feeling that a Champ car or IRL car may have the edge however as they are more used to that kind of racing.
