    Footnotes

Koenig Specials, founded by Willy Koenig (former driver and 1962 German Mountain Champion with a 250 GT SWB), had made a name for itself in the aesthetic and mechanical preparation of the most beautiful German and Italian sports cars. The kits offered for the 512BB and BBI were very popular in the early 1980s, so much so that some 50 cars were modified by the German tuner. Made to order, several body kits were available, but also several levels of mechanical preparation (385, 420, 450, 650 and 700 horsepower), as well as numerous interior options.

Delivered new in 1977, this 512 BB later received the full Koenig Specials body kit and a full red leather interior with a complete Pioneer audio system. Mechanically, we cannot say how much power the car develops, but given the extra oil cooler and modified carburettors, we assume that the engine benefited from the services of the German tuner. In the 2000s it was part of the Johannessen collection in Cahors, before being bought by its current owner in 2010. The current owner and those responsible for selling the Johannessen collection have told us that the car was ordered from Koenig Specials by King Hassan II of Morocco, but unfortunately, we cannot confirm this, due to a lack of archives.

Today, the Berlinetta Boxer is in rare original condition. Indeed, it has only 10,914 kilometres on the odometer, presumably original given the car's preservation. The interior is in near new condition and the bodywork shows very few defects despite its age, a sign of the car's meticulous storage over its lifetime. Not driven in recent years, being showcased in the vendor's private museum, the 512 will need to be restarted and overhauled before being driven again.
Extraordinary, very 1980's, Koenig's preparations are increasingly sought after by collectors. This 512 BB, registered in France under type F102BBAPP, is probably the lowest mileage and more extravagant BB on the market.
