But how big is this island if he spent $350,000 on it?! That'd have to be tiny by today's market.

It could be a huge mortgage.....

Still, I'm sure if you've got $18 million for a house, you must have at least double or triple that for anything else.

A decent size, but he bought it when he was 24, I don't know how old he is now but you have to consider how porperty prices have risen over the years, and inflation. For example, my house in 1993 was purchased for £92,000/$182,000USD and is now on For Sale at £495,000/$982,000USD
