    As did I

Not a big deal though as far as I can see. Sure ABS and stability control are safety devices, but it's no trouble to get by without them.

Unless you still think they're there.

Exactly. We've been looking at one these days and despite its shortcomings it still is such a nice place to be. Makes you forget everything else.

I was thinking more in terms of this, but in any case it's still an enticing proposition, even if by now it's been surpassed by other more modern rivals. But it has a very decent price.

In my country, Alfa had notorious second hand price. 2 year on road and they'll loose 60% of their market value.... good good 2nd hand buy

And i dont like the facelifted 156 and 147.

I prefer the pre-facelift 147 too, but this one is not bad either. I mean of the premium C-segment hatches it's only second to the C30 and it's much cheaper than any of them.

The thing i like bout 147 is the CORRECT size for hot hatch .... others are just way too big. and i think its the only one in the segment with rear air con vents... rear legroom is generous as well considering its size....

I have asked my Dad about a 156 GTA but he looked at me and laughed. So I think that's totally out. I think a new MX-5 may be on the list for some reason.

Tell your dad to test drive one and then laugh. And the MX-5 is great car but it certainly won't fit a dog.

He's more worried about his bank account, we've a hell of a lot of money going out soon. I'm confused about the MX-5, we need a cer that can accomodate all 4 of us, the CoupeCabrio's are at a push and the puppy (which can go in the passenger footwelll. The MX-5 is a 2 seater... :S

So, buy an Alfa Romeo 147 1.6. And problem solved. If not a Volvo C30 1.6 would do as well.
