i know quite a bit about Subwoofers and Amps but am still ify on what i should get

i want at least 12's. preferably 2 of them, and a 1000 to 1200W amp

i was wondering if anyone knows of a really good brand for the price.

We'll just say my budget is about $1500 USD

check out elemental designs. awesome prices and great guys to work with. not to mention the sound is SPECTACULAR. not too much bass but excellent quality

Oh man, $1,500, I just jazzed myself.

Two of FI's Q or above 12's (I have one Q12 and it's phenomenal, when I get about $600 to mess around with I'll get another one, a new box and a second amp.) with a custom box, and I would go with Alpine for the amp(s). Q12 has a 1000W RMS and a 27mm Xmax (=thundering bass your eally feel)

You'll probably also want a new head unit to give your door speakers better sound and more power so they bass isn't overpowering.

I found a set of 2800w subs, 1400w each on eBay for $300 shipped. They were Blaupunkt too

Individually. Worth it.

I like Kenwood and Pioneer brands myself.. But sometimes a good amp can make the difference between making a decant sub sound real good or bad,
I just picked up a Pioneer Sub and replaced my old sub noname brand, The sound difference was amazing, If i went for a great amp over over a powerful shitty one i would make the car lift rather then rumble bits.
But check the brands and fine print, Many times you will find that ones with all the bells and whistles are not up to scratch..

Even walk into a place that sells systems and get them to test some amps and subs till you find what your after then go to ebay and get them half price.
