The whole point of this thread was to find a new Photo comp host, Not to argue about what has happened in previous comps etc, Is this going to happen?

i'm lazy and disorganised, and don't care/know about photography (and specifically the comps), therefore i propose you do it

Would anyone be interested in "themed comps" in which you have a goal to take a certain type of photo each week. It would shake things up and mabey spark a new interest. This would apply specifically to the general comp.

Such stupidity is rare here, you know.

A beautiful car that is photographed well has better presence than a 1998 Toyota Camry with faded beige paint. For this same reason, you don't necessarily see unattractive/unphotogenic people as photo models.

I didn't vote for Pat's Murci photo last week, but it was still a good photo from my point of view.
    Well said.

I would anyway. Long ago I tried to launch something like this, but it never really came off the ground. Feel free to try it, good luck with it !

Yea it sounds like a good idea. But the themes must be specific and have rules that must be followed otherwise the subject or theme in the photo could be very vague.

the problem is if you would start car related themes that we all live in different parts of the world, and we all have different access to "motoring" in general. If for instance the theme would be "supercar" our members in Dushanbe or Tashkent would not be able to participate....

well does it really matter if we don't stay quite within the boundaries of whats normally regarded as for example a supercar....perhaps a lada in the air after coming over a particularly rough patch of road

This was exactly what I was trying to get at, not everyone could participate in the comp all at the same time depending on what the theme was.

If I volunteer, do I have to do both the general and the automotive competitions? Because I'll do the general one. Just tell me the preferred schedule of it.
i was waiting on a moment, but the moment never came. all the billion other moments, were just slipping all away. i must have been tripping, we're just slipping all away. just ego tripping.
