Renault to revive Alpine

Why would it try to tempt buyers away from the 350Z? Renault owns Nissan (or the other way around).

Jean Redele is dead, all the renders I've seen so far look derivitive and uninspired; I doubt very much that Renault have the sense to just put the Clio 197 motor in a small, light coupe chassis and be done with it... I doubt seriously that this enterprise will produce anything recognisable as an Alpine...
