    Willys Whippet '26 & Bugatti T35 '24

Had my buddy, Don Lindsay, come to see my CMC T35 1:18 today.
Just to show me that he does "the real thing", he brought along his 1926 Willys Whippet Carriage (hate him !!)
Had to click the two old timers together just for laughs.

I know what your preferences are but have you got more on the Whippet?

Actually want to do some research and then I'll post an article.
This car stood in a shed in a little town called Kuruman in the Kalahari Desert for around 40 years!!
Don is doing a full refurb.
Might get him to join the site and keep us updated.

What was the condition of the car when he first started refurbishing it?

Damn near perfect as the climate in the desert did not allow for any rust.
Even the wooden wheels are perfect.
Paintwork is better than one could believe.
Upholstery does not have one loose stitch !
    Keep you updated.

That brings back memories, my dad found a Whippet in a barn a few years back, from what I remember it was even the same color as your friends, and had the same red wooden spoke wheels, I was thinking it was more along the lines of a 1930ish, but I might be wrong. We were just saying last night that out of all the antique cars we've had this is the one we should have kept. and does anyone else think that poor trailer looks like a skinny guy with a fat chic on his back?

They seem to have a tendancy for ending up in barns. The thing is so solid that when you give it a whack anywhere on the bodywork you dont even hear a thud ! It's like hitting a brick wall !
