Bentley Arnage to get Bugatti engine?

According to some rumours that are on the interwebz, Bentley boss Franz-Josef Paefgen is putting everything at risk to get a W16 Bentley Arnage. The Arnage W16 should first become a showcar, but if the public and press are positive there might even come a production model.

    DO IT!!!!!!

Bentley need something extravagant. After all, they are the "sportier" alternative to Rolls Royce.

    and to shut Fleet500 up.
I'm dropping out to create a company that starts with motorcycles, then cars, and forty years later signs a legendary Brazilian driver who has a public and expensive feud with his French teammate.

What's wrong with the V8 ? They pumped in millions recently to let it meet the new demands.. Seems quite a waste to be honest. Im not sure the financial and product planning management will be happy with this.

Because having the fastest production sedan in the world and a coupe and convertible that will pass the 200mph mark just isn't good enough. Not to mention a successful racing past and extremely sought-after classic market.

It's less powerful than the W12 in the smaller, less expensive Continental Flying Spur (500 hp vs. 552 hp).

The idea of a W16 in an Arnage body is mind-boggling, and in a good way.

DO IT!! the arnage is already very powerful and very lew fuel efficient. they might be targeting the maybach 62S or the 57S.

Understeer anyone? (Edit- I forgot about 4WD. )

It's stupid to put the W-16 in the Arnage. It kills the image of the Buggati, which was to create a unique car. Sharing the W-16 would kill the unique-ness VW fought so hard to create. I know VW has W-12 engines and W-8's that share the general shape, but they're still different in the sense that they have less cylinders.

And in a bad way. I don't really like the idea of an Arnage that shares its bore centers with a Golf...

I agree. However, I think VAG is looking to make back some of the untold millions they put into Bugatti. I suspect it won't be the quad turbo version or at least it be be severly de-tuned.

That's my point. They need an outrageous engine that shows off their engineering achievements.
