i have a Shun Ken Onion chef's knife, and i am enamored with it. i woudl like to get the whole Ken Onion set, but my wife woudl rather the whole regular shun set. either way i woudl be fine. you can't beat the shun for looks and quality craftsmanship. Global is alright, I dont really have feelings for them one way or the other. (incidently this week I met Kat Cora and I asked her what knives she uses, and she said Global.)

Yeah Im going to be missing it with my family this year because I will still be in school and getting ready for my finals.

You will love Israel, I spent a summer there and except for having to be evacuated from the north because Lebanon was shooting, it was one of the most amazing trips of my life.

Israel is either a supermega fun country, or all Jewish kids praise it too much. (I'm not a bigot, I just have Jewish friends that say Israel was by far the best time they've ever had) It might be because you take a year away from home to party in another country, or something like that.

Probably what I'm going to get, minus the family stuff.

Not that I really need the Nikon or the PS3. Happy with what I have right now.

Pretty much - you are in a foreign country with a huge amount of beach, desert/California type weather, and one of the most laid back cultures I have yet heard of (except in politics and such....). Clubbing age is 16, drinking age is 18, you are in a junction of Europe, Asia and Africa, and they all contribute a little wildness. Plus if you are Jewish/Christian/Islamic, you have a lot of spiritual roots there. Awesome place, so excited.

Was it a program of some sort or did you just go? I am very much hoping to go there for a summer or maybe a study abroad program. However, Australia and the U.K. make for good competition for where to study for a semester

    - 1/18th car model
    - To get into Oberlin (December 15th I'll know....)
    - This hot girl at my school

    Yeah, that's about it

A lot of professional chefs prefer Global because of the feel, ever used one? They're light, fantastically balance, and stay pretty sharp. I love mine. I also use Henckels though, and that is a great santoku, very hefty, which I like for heavy work, as opposed to the global which is a really nice finesse knife.

I know that's right... we haven't seen 1/2 of the 1:18 Ferrari models we should have in 07...

(I think it's because of the Chinese lead paint deal, they all got pushed back - just my hunch, no facts to back it up)

When asked for suggestions for presents the other day the only things I could come up with were some new socks, maybe a couple of new shirts for work, and the new Bruce Springsteen record.

I've officially turned into my Dad, at the age of 25.
