100 'Coolest' Cars

meh, what's the point of this in a car magazine? Everybody has different opinions. My friend's dream car is a riced up volvo (im serious..). Of course Im dreaming about a McLaren F1. People might take a pinto over an S7 (maybe they have mental problems...). It's all about what you think.

Very true. I agree with you completely. (but a riced up volvo!! arghh!... CRAZY )

Also just like to say that most mercedes aren't "cool" but the Gullwing was damn cool! Especially for its time.

Seriously though, I hope the Dodge Viper and the Lotus Espirit AND the AC Cobra are all on this list. Not to mention every TVR ever made. The Poms won't put on the Dodge Viepr though because its American.

That Multipla Pic is the Facelifted one, it looks decent!
Also the Fiat Multipla they speak of is the original from 1955.
I do agree with the Mercedes Benz 300Sl Gullwing being no 1.

I don't agree with the Enzo reaching no 2, especially with cars like the F40 and Daytona only getting 27/23 respectivly, come on guys, it's ugly, not cool..........

come to mention it, i dont think any Vipers were on there!! They deserve to be there though, the espirit was there,i think...

My favorite's the Nismo 400R (just my opinion dont hate me) awd, good Japanese racing look (especially because the guys who would make it look riceriffic cant buy one)

I just thought i would post this, and see if anyone had any opinions on any of these cars and what they think. Personally, i dont think the 300Sl should have the top spot, thats just my opinion though. What would you have as the top 3?

300SL gullwing is definatly at the top end of my list, if not number one

I've got that issue of CAR (by the way it is 2004 May...) and to understand it they also put why they thin it is cool, and something curious about the car, just the list doesn't make much sense. An example:

98- Saab 900 Aero

Why is it cool? Looks like Darth Vader playing harmonica. Still weird and futuristic, and the turbocharged 16-valve engine has plenty of mumbo. And lag. And wheelspin. And torque steer. Quirky, interesting, lavishly equiped choice.

Bet you didn't know: Per eklund's four-wheel drive rallycross Saab 9-3 Viggen uses a production engine block and 16-valve head as introduced with the Aero... albeit running 3bar of boost and developing 750bhp.

Sum up: Beats 520i with fake M5 badges
