erm who in the world said common means good???? and yeah have you thought about an x5(3.0) or a m-class - they are all in the same league - they are not that common but they are very good too - i dare say better - maybe its the pricing but thats not by a significant margin either so maybe its the looks(which i just think is too american and no sweed in it)bad bad bad car - GO FOR THE XC70 OR V70R

xc90 which is almost as gd as an x5 costs 200 000

but a x5 costs 300 000!

for that 100 000 i can buy another car

journalisits whom have tested it say it's a very gd car, on road and off-road,

vs. the x5

and competitive pricing makes the volvo "better" in sense for the buyer

all in all its actually what the buyer is looking for but what i did not understand is you said obviously xc90 - if youre talking about pricing offcourse the xc90 wins hands down but it does not have the killer looks(ok actually this is up to the person), the poise(on road), the performance, the resale value and the overall functionality of the x5 thats why it is cheaper and volvo dare call it an x5 rival - it would be better if they call it a x3 rival

RESALE VALUE

the volvo is in more demand and the x5 is more ex

obviously the volvo is more in demand because the x5 is expensive but the x5 has been around long now and xc90 just came in so we still have to wait to see if it is a real sucess -well in my eyes it not because it cannot beat the x5 cayenne and the range rover mk3 - perhaps it is in the wrong sector - it should be in the discovery - grand chereooke and the murano sector
