    DriftFest @ Calder Raceway, 2007

Well after a bit of a trek Simon(Blue_Supra) and myself made our way from Canberra to Melbourne, arriving at some ungodly hour at the home of Australia's resident Dutchman, Daan(Sauc3) and crashing.

Rebooting at 9am we make our way to Calder park raceway, avoiding bogan Commodores and fully-sick-mate Civics, a wrong turn down the correctly signposted street we arrived at our destination, a windy and cold Calder Park Raceway. the problem? We're all in shorts and, in Daan and Simon's case, short sleeves t-shirts. ba ha ha, n00bs.

Grooving to the side of the track we get in position, 6 hours of uber awesome drives past - including some corker vehicles. Standouts include:

    - a Nissan Pintara wagon having it's nuts driven off, matte black with "SPONSOR ME!" spray painted in gold on the side.
    - A n00b in a White Nissan Silvia - nicknamed Special ed. he just tried sooooo hard.
    - A Nissan Skyline R33 GTS-T - Got bodyroll?
    - a white XF Falcon. good stuff.

So this was a fun time......until we get home. Organic Sunscreen that comes out like hairgel FTL - My forehead is bright red - I don't know how the other guys are feeling......

The Next morning we make out way to the new Eureka Tower - 88 floors up we laud over Melbourne, plotting evil. << >>. As an architecture student this made me pretty happy because the building happens to be a personal favourite - and the Edge tourist attraction - an Electro-Chromatic Glassed box which switches the floor clear to freak it's inhabitants out - is a fantastic addition.

Departing from Daan we travel to Darrell's house - almost ending up in Geelong. Not Happy . But after hanging around for a little bit (and meeting his lovely mother) we make our way home.

BTW do you still have my sunnies Simon? I might have forgotted them .

    So, onto the photos.
    1) BATTLE DORIFUTO behatches.
    2) For those unfamiliar with the sport, this should be a good indicator of what to expect.
3)Probably one of my better photos of the day - you'll have to excuse the pixelation, my stupid batch resizer is teh sux0r
    4)a Gold R31 Skyline Sedan
    5) a S13 Silvia. Also gold.
    6) As best we could determine, a completely stock R33 GTS-T. got bodyroll?

2)Team Players - only a problem when all three of your cars run into each other
3)SPONSOR ME! best Pintara wagon bar none. drove the nuts off it and was the best car on the track bar none.
    4)Hold it....Hold It......too much!
5)a VN SS V8....every time it came out onto the track it had a different set of rear wheels. Wonder where his budget went

2)Can you believe this thing rocked it?
3)An R32 With some form of win happening.
4)NOT MY FRONT WHEELS, there the good ones!
5)Simon looking suspiciously horny after eating the all-natural sunscreen. BTW, Aloe Vera = Win on a sore face.
    6) You can tell you've left melbourne when......

So yeah, thats about it from my side of the fence. I had some good shots which i might post later, but these are generally the ones made of win. Feel free to add Daan/Simon

And Clutch....Shenanigans? who called it? who will enforce it? will there be beer and pizza?

    this was on the wkend.

there was an earlier thread on it...

Im fine Sam and yes i do have your sunnies. They are in my door.

The Pintara was the best drift car EVER, seriously he rocked it.

I can STILL taste the all natural sunscreen... bad... still i made $2.

Getting lost on your way out of melbourne and going in the opposite direction... PRICELESS!!

Personal favorites on the day... The XF was brilliant. couldnt believe it was a 6cyl, seriously thought it was an 8. The Silvia in pic 5 post 1, HAWT.

Thanks again to Daan for putting us up and putting up with us

I wont be back next year (on honeymoon) but def the year after.

Nice cars. Also I want to know how much money and time go into making a car like that?

    *buys cheap, crappy Nissan 200SX*

Actually I wonder if I should just do that for real.

EDIT: Actually a 240SX would probably be better.

There are some sick JDM S13's for sale (with the SR20DET) but I'm not a fan of RHD cars. I drove a RHD Skyline GTS-t, not much fun on roads made for LHD cars. But meh, fux it. Drifting. Do want.
