Yeaahhhh that was it. How much was it again? Cayman S price plus $40k or so for engine swap?

I like the wheels, just not in chrome.

BTW this is a Vette forum not 911, but I'd like to add that going to 8 cylinders will change the 911's identity more than moving the engine forward would.
Curb weight=more than the Z06. 3,300lbs or something of that nature.

i think a Z06 in Aus brand new is around 220K plus on roads. What does a Z06 cost in the states and in Europe on road roughly?

It's gonna be close. It really depends on the final figure for peak hp from the LS9. Right now it's supposed to be 620 hp. The only place where it isn't close is peak torque.

The question is will the ZR1 have the handling of the CGT?

Finally, these two engines are very dissimilar and although comparing them is fun, it is not necessarily indicative of which is superior. The M80 is DOHC and relies on high revs for power and is smaller, while the LS9 is pushrod and uses a supercharger for power and is larger.

Each design has it's advantages and disadvantages.

MSRP on a 08 Z06 is $71,000 plus tax, and title fees. Figure about another $6500 on the base price and you should be rolling. At least in NY.

Plus a boat ride out here, RHD conversion and a big mark up for the small sales volume.

Oops, made a couple of mistakes in that post. By ">" I meant "greater" as in better not "greater" as in "higher value," and substitute "thread" for "forum." I hope it all makes sense now. No, I wasn't drinking in the morning
