Agreed, but you forget one thing: We're talking about a car, not a plane. - Unless jumping this car won't have to fly, a car doesn't need vertical stabilizers, and we want to create downforce, not lift! I'm sure a "stealth" car could be made to be as aerodynamic as a conventional car haha!

Me too: Cars, planes, boats, submarines, spacecraft etc. etc.
True, but I've heard of people getting tickets for putting plastic covers over the license plates. Reason- the border covered the N in New York.

Yeah, it would be possible. Just hugely expensive.

I say supposedly since I've never tried it, but it sounds plausible.

Anyway... since police radars are basically waves bouncing back and forth, won't a car painted in a very dark shade of black theoretically absorb the waves?
    Mythbusters busted it.

About Mythbusters- didn't Jeremy Clarkson outrun the red light camera in a Tuscan TVR or something? Mythbusters ended the myth by saying that unless it was a dragster you couldn't ever outrun a red light camera.

Does America have speed trap cameras? Cause I might of heard something that in Europe cameras are set up on the highway (not manned by policemen) and when the catch a speeding car, they don't even pull you over. They automatically mail you the ticket.

Am I inventing things here or is it true?

It was Richard Hammond and the Stig driving a TVR Tuscan S at over 170mph in the first new Top Gear programme, IIRC.

And yes with fixed cameras they send you the ticket home, here.

Yeesh. I'd hate to have that system installed here in America. It's not like the government sucks enough money from us as it is.

Although I'm pretty sure the taxes in Europe are pretty steep as well.

And yet we in Europe tend to drive much faster than in the US.

But then you enter a Ford dealership and don't find a 10 year old car with a fulgy facelift at least. Or something.

Well driving fast and safely aren't neceserally incompatible. Sometimes driving too slow is also dangerous.

i think it's a standard in whole UE, if not, then it's in nearly all of them. in fact, it works even internationally... my friend received a speed ticket from switzerland and, as we know, they've got draconic law when it comes to speed...

Ouch. Way to be a killjoy.

So they send you a ticket even if you're 1 km/h over the speed limit? Or do they have a bit of a leeway?

Here it's 10% or at least 10km/h over the limit. So technically the theoretical top speed in the motorway before you get a ticket is 132km/h (82mph). I think other EU countries have similar regulations.

Driving the speed limit =/= driving safely.
