    I won't call it the best in the world, but Hwy-49 between Sonora and Angeles Camp is Northern California is a great stretch to drive. Tight, twisty, hilly, lots of elevation changes, with one wicked hair-pin at the bottom of a hill and a bridge that extends about a half-mile over one of California's biggest lakes.

    Plenty of good driving roads in the South Island of NZ...mountain passes and the like...top scenery

    pity i only had a diesel ford transit van to do them in
