Does the Attachment system hate my Nikon?

Strange title, yes, but I've been having a "problem" with the Attachment system. When I used to upload photos taken from my old Kodak, they'd load. Fantastic.

But now, when I try to upload photos from my Nikon, I noticed it'll say, "Uploading" and when the page refreshes to show the loaded images, it'll actually refresh to a blank, white page. I've left it that way for about an hour to only find it still a blank, white page.

I've been wondering if the dimensions of the Nikon are what cause the problem.
    Nikon - 3872x2592
    Kodak- 2048x1536

I'm guessing the Attachment feature doesn't like these large photos.

Yes we officially discourage the use of Nikons!

On a serious note, have you tried uploading smaller versions of your Nikon shots?
If you should see a man walking down a crowded street talking aloud to himself, don't run in the opposite direction, but run towards him, because he's a poet. You have nothing to fear from the poet - but the truth.

If they're over the file size limit, something like you describe happens...

It shouldn't happen. The system can resize larger images. I just uploaded a 3 mb shot without problems. It was downsized to 600 kb.

Have had problems in the past with the thumbnail creation process.
I found opening it in an editor and saving it with one more point of compression in jpeg and it was fine after that.

The attached shot started out as a 3mb file before I uploaded it. Are you sure you didn't try to upload a CMYK file?

I remember something about a problem with large pixel pictures, but the second shot is 3504x2336.

I tried to upload some 1.7mb shots from a Canon Powershot A530 earlier: All that happened was the upload window stayed open (saying "uploading") for over 30 minutes, therefore I assumed that this was because my file size was over the 1mb limit.

Oringal 3Mb, 5Mb jpegs attached OK.

    But 10Mb 9622x6322 one didn't

    NO NIkon involved ..... hmmmmm

However, nothing "hung". The attachments window reported file transmission fault

This happens for me occasionally, even for uploads considerably under 1 meg (although I tend to give up long before 30 minutes!) so I resort to photobucket.

But it all seems to be working fine today

Nota, that radial bike is amazing. I've seen a Jesse James bike with the radial rotated 90 degrees vertically.

    Any info?

    Here it is.

Btw no real reason for posting these pics except to share what AUD$7k & $8k buys in the way of an immaculate-condition classic Italian

Yes. I went ahead and uploaded photos I resized to 1600x1701.

It's not a major issue, obviously, but I thought it was a bit strange it wouldn't upload. But I have no problem resizing them if that's what it'll take.
