    The Hornet ( and the Riley Elf ) had boots (trunks).

    indeed, thanks, I never new they made the "up-market" versions without a trunk

    At first it's a little difficult to believe that the idea made it past the drawing board. What's even more difficult to believe is that MG were trying to pull the same stunt with 10 year old Rovers/Hondas nearly forty years later!

    I'm afraid I don't understand your point. When was MG trying to produce "upmarket versions without a trunk"
    It's not denial. I'm just very selective about the reality I accept.

    Sorry. I was just suggesting that MG were playing the "don't change it, just stick a new grille and badge on it" card, much like this Wolseley.

    Welcome to UCP, great to see photos of this car. Would you have any more stories or pictures of your car, you simply don't find much information on these kinds of cars readily available and it's always great to hear from an owner.
