Motorsport in aus

Now out of curiosity I was wondering what motorsport classes are available in aus while I previously knew them all and used to be able to quote top runners in most series with the advent of a few new hobbies ive lagged and im wondering whats left (and more importantly whats affordable)

CAMS <<< S.C.U.M oops I mean cams seemed like a logical place to start.
Australian GT Championship <<<esentially what the procar turned into.
Australian Formula 4000 Championship <<<ex formula holden
Formula Vee Australia Home Page — Formula Vee Australia <<<formula Vee
Formula Ford <<<doesnt need a translation
Commodore Cup :: HOME:: www.commodorecup.com.au <<one make series of VHs and VR holdens with the small 253 holden v8s.
:: ANDRA :: Australian National Drag Racing Association <<<aussie drag racing the only way to avoid cams and still go fast.
Official website of the NEC Australian Rally Championship <<< australian rally
OZSPEED.NET <<production tourers ex super tourers (oh how the mighty have fallen)
The official website of the Kumho Tyres Australian Formula 3 Championship Series :: Welcome <<<f3 and current austrlaian drivers (gold star) championship
Home of The Australian Production Car Championship - Home <<<another production touring car
Australian Performance Car Championship <<<another production touring cars page this time its esentially what we saw at the bathurst 12 hour
Home - TASCCO The Home of Saloon Car Racing <<<saloon cars modded production 6 cylender models good class it is too.
V8 Utes - <<<good in theory but has a real issue with idots driving in it.
Aussie Racing Cars <<<ex aussie legands
Biante Touring Car Masters <<<historics

Feel free to add anything you guys can find its a list and not a definative one and it seems suoersedan has slipped off the radar on searches reveal oval dirt track racers Used to be the best non mainstream catigory imo tony riccidello, tony Dalberto, steven johnson, Neil crompton and many more where filter through this catigory.

There's lots more
Porsche gt3, a new mini cooper series, HQs and of course V8 supercars.
It should all be on the CAMS website.

I hope we'll someday get anything more serious than Lada Revolution...

EDIT: oh, just forget about it - about a week ago Seat Leon Cup was announced for Russia. Starting from this year.

So are there no formula series in russia? or even any form of touring cars?

There are, but they're poorly organised, while a Leon Cup seems to be maybe the best series from an organisational point of view.

We've got an RTCC series (Russian Touring Car Championship - I think, needless to say), consisting of Touring, Touring Lite, Super Production and National (Ladas) and now Leons, we've got Formula Rus with Alfa Romeo engines, Formula-1600, NGSA (or Lada Cup - Lada 112, Kalina and Lada Revolution), starting from this year we'll have Legends here (American stock cars)... But, hey, that's not enough! No really powerful cars and high speeds! They're all kind of budget... Moreover, they're held up on just couple tracks (ADM near Moscow mostly)...

Prehaps organizing some club events and proving that these thing are wanted by the people "might" get the goverments attention.

Any drag strips or the like they can be a good way to get weekly meets out and while they arent nearly as fun as circut racing they still are a fun way to spend a night.

Drag is popular, but mostly cheap, too. Tho there is a club which drops drags on supercars. Some club events take place from time to time, in turn, but still it looks like no one really needs quality.

Well often at that level there is a lack in quality.

The best way would be to either host your own event which can be a logistical nightmare. Or prehaps Raise the standard whith your own actions if what your doing is netting results and getting people attention then others will follow.

Rember the whole idea is to have fun though you dont need to own an M series or a tickford to enjoy yourself just look at bluesupra and his datsun
