    Keeping my options open
1.8T is a nice engine. Not bad MPG, peppy enough, plenty of mods available for decent prices. Though engine isn't too important. 1.8T or 2.8 are both nice.
A hot hatch would be nice, but we don't have many here. There's some Volkswagen GTi VR6's every now and then, but they are always riced, and thus look like shit.

If I want to pwn some ricers around here, I'll definitely go with a 5 cylinder Audi

Budget is what controls what I can get.

When it comes to B5 A4 vs Coupe Quattro, it's kind of difficult.
I know for sure that I can get a good CQ for $4500...

I like your thoughts. If only my 1.8TQ was as fuel efficient as you observe, unless you think 24mpg is good for 160odd hp.

    Well, MPG is respectable

Spotted a few decently priced used A8s as well.
    Though, I think I'll just look for A4's, A6's, 90 Quattro's, and Coupe Quattro's...

    I've decided it's B5 A4 vs 20v.
    Cast your vote.

Though if I find one of either that's a good deal when I have the money, I won't hesitate to buy it.

I like the B5 A4 mainly because they're newer, it's not difficult to find parts, and they have airbags and a better safety rating which the insurance company will like...

20v powered cars have the awesome sound, incredible power, though both are nice "driver's cars"

If you decide away from Audis, give Talon TSI AWD/Eclipse GSX a chance. You can get into a decent Talon for the money you're talking about.

If you're going to buy an Audi, buy a proper one.

By which you mean a 20v?

I've also found some nice BMWs to consider...
