    Apparently it's based on an old Maserati project, but Ferrarised. I guess that it could have been a "cheaper" Ferrari if they wanted, but instead they decided to move the car further upmarket.

    it was a maserati project, yes, but when they took it they changed nearly everything. the chassis for example is no more of steel as for maseratis but of aluminium as for others ferrari, so it changed also in its dimensions and mechanical characteristics. it has no longer connections to that project, and it's a shame because probably they lost a lot of time/money converting it and now maserati is without of it.

    Don't worry, when they unveil the 2 seater replacements for the Spyder and Grandsport everything will be fine.

    i guess it will be a long wait, up to now there are only mules of the restyled quattroporte(can't wait), but let's keep fingers crossed!!!
