    Well, puck.

For a while there it really looked like the Caps were going to make it. Stupid Filthydelphia. Still, I congratulate the Capitals on a superlative season and believe they can do even better next year.

    All the way in 2009!

Pens looking good in game 2. Up 1-0 after 2. Fleury is a beast.

Well the Habs are now golfing. I guess that's what you get when you play like you don't want to win...

They had a good team, but a good team made up of average players. We need big guns. And we also needed a goalie that had experience in the playoffs... aka Huet. Good move Mr. Gainey, putting so much pressure on Carey Price. Yes, he's good, but I guess he struggled to handle all the pressure playoff games bring. You can't attack the playoffs with two goalies that never spent a minute goal tending in a playoff game, even if you finish the season first in your conference.

Well, thats not entirely true is it?

Halak has little playoff experienec, but Carey price carried the Hamilton bulldogs to the calder cup last year. That is more playoff experience than some NHL goalies.

The true reasons for his below average performances are now surfacing. He admitted now that he got injured halfway through the Boston Series. When you think that he has been playing for 2 straight years without any sort of rest, between junior world championships, AHL season + playoffs + cup, first NHL season and playoffs, it is a surprise he did not get hurt before.

Now as for mr gainey, his move was a great one. as if Huet had stayed, he would now be a free agent, and we would have gotten NOTHING from his departure. Now, at least, he left AND we have a second round pic next year on top of clearing space on the salary cap in order to get a true impact player for next season.

I think ultimatly, the only players that can be blamed for the poor playoff performance are our forward lines. Kovalev, plekanec, andrei Kostitsyn, koivu, Streit etc.. They had a decent playoff rendition but it paled in comparison with the amazing season they had. Our power play went from best to worst, we went from the Top NHL attack to one of the worst! and THAT my friend is not Carey Price's Fault.

EDIT: Wings vs Pens in the final is gona be freakin' amazing!

Why was Huet leaving inevitable? He is a good enough a goalie that the Habs shoulda tried to lock him down for a few years and let Price develop more in the minors.

Or is cap space a problem?
