Funny, but I'm not saying they're cheating. I'm just saying why compare a car that had obvious modifications in the interior that had a time of 7:59 to a car that didn't have any modifications with a time of 8:13 or the Audi with 8:06?

They were set by SportAuto who primarily tests production cars as they come the factory. You would have read about these cars if they had been equipped with the same equipment as the CTS-V.

    Either way, interestingly enough.
The manual isn't as fast — "The reason you see John wave at the beginning of the video," another anonymous source told us, "is because (ride and drive engineer) Aaron Link is right behind him in a manual-transmission CTS-V." Link, an excellent driver in his own right, simply couldn't keep up with Heinricy and throughout testing, the automatic has proven to be the hot setup for this car. "There's video of Aaron's run, and he's incredibly busy" an insider told us. "Meanwhile, John barely moves."
    From Edmunds.

I hear rumour that the M5 will be updated to a larger engine with as much as 550bhp, which should affect it's 8:13 time somewhat. The current 5.0L seems to be good for 550bhp since the ECU was cracked and those cars have proved significantly quicker than stock....But that's just for the giant size sedans.
I'm reasonably sure an Spec-C Impreza ran a quicker time than this Caddy, it's a 4 door sedan too and the UK delivered FQ Evos might be even quicker still but I've never heard of a time for one.
Still, around the 8 minute mark is some very serious machinery. Which this CTS-V most certainly is.

    Try it and see.

It seems whenever you are dealing with a serious bulk in torque and weight a good auto is the way to go.

Horsepower wins races. Torque pulls trailers.
