    GTM Australia

I was going back through the threads on TeamGTM and came across this. It was at the end of July last year, anyone seen it?

Its been a long road indeed....just waiting for Winter to end so I can get out on the road and enjoy it!

Here's a picture of the rear end. I did a bit of re-modelling of the number plate opening since you guys in the UK have funny shaped number plates.

looks a little goofy, but would be distinctive to see. however:

makes no sense at all to me.

How so? I think the wing on the back looks outrageous. The owner has access to a windtunnel though so he has designed the aero setup to split 80kg of downforce 50:50 over the car with the help of a splitter at the cost of 6bhp.

the rear end seems to sit really high, and it kinda resembles a big plastic jelly bean. i don't know if it's the photo's, or the work of the owner (this being a guy who can't drive in winter...somehow)

It's probably the Toy-Town Spoiler on the back.

Seriously, It's not going to do eleven billion KP/H.

Aparently it needs it. A splitter along the front doubles the downforce created at the front but creates lift at the back of the car. Created because the air doesn't detach along the back window of the car, so a wing that size balances everything out nicely. Also, the NACA ducts on the side of the car don't work properly, but they look good.

Great, so the styling of the car and the "Aerodynamics" work brilliantly.

Exactly, but i still can't help but stare at my Dad's car every now and then. I think it looks beautiful in its pure form. No wings, spoilers or changes to the original design.

Libra make tampons and panty liners, but if they built a car this is what it would look like..I mean you could make a car sound more effeminate but you'd have to call it the Fairymaster 3000 Calvin Klein edition or something..

What is this thing anyway? Is it real?

Its a GTM Libra, a British Kit Car. Think refined Lotus Elise but losing very little of the track attitude. A very popular car within the Kit Car scene and now Potenza are trying to take it and offer it as a real mainstream alternative. Maybe not the Libra itself because this is now a 10 year old design, but GTM as a marque.

Libra is also a star sign...balance...?
