I've supported Obama from the beginning, and I'm glad he's got the nomination. I would have voted for Hillary or Edwards, or even Richards if they got it though.

Actually that's not true, I supported Kucinich at the start, but I knew he had no chance.

I think once the campaign season gets into full swing, you're going to see McSame's support go down the tubes. He's had some popularity right now because he's been running unopposed, but I doubt he has a chance.

McSame will have the same people screwing up in the white house, and he will continue the same failed policies we've had for the past 8 years. The only reason he has any support at all is because people are afraid of Obama. And I'm not saying because he's half-black, I won't play the race card here. No, because he's viewed as very liberal, and that has conservatives scared.

Conservatives don't like McCain that much, they just like Obama less. The Republican party is a bit in the same spot as the Democratic party was in 2004, only the republican party is much less popular right now than the democratic party was then, and the democratic party nearly won with their 'not the other guy' ticket then, so I project a good butt-whooping this year.

Ironically RP didn't even know what YouTube was until reports of his internet popularity began to hit the news.

But that is an age related thing....as both he and McCain are over 70 years old and McCain admits to being computer illiterate.

    Well said

I'm not old enough to vote, but I'll be doing my part to help. I'll be setting up Obama signs all over town. (Yes, I know, it's Idaho so it's a little dangerous).

    Obama.

After hearing that McCain envisions a victory in Iraq shortly after taking office, I've just... wow...just...wow.

It seems like some people are turning this election into a white race versus the black race competition. Almost every time I watch the news, the news reporter says something about Obama being a black man or something about McCain being a white man.

Hah, I voted for "if i was an american i would vote republican" on the poll, I wanted to vote for Obama, and though he was with the republican. Shows how much I know.

I don't want to start a 100-page thread, but I can assure you that Fleet submitted his vote blindfolded. He's one of those who is simply a Republican, it just doesn't matter anymore who's the better candidate and who's got something better to offer and to fix the country where you live in, it's all about your stupid political party.

I can't wait for the presidential debates, Obama will eat McCain alive, it will be absolutely embarrassing. McCain is a MESS as a public speaker, and he is dumb as a donkey... Fleet won't be watching though, there's nothing Obama can say or do to make him change his mind.

I'll just say that It's still choosing between two people who've had to kiss a whole lot of ass and compromise a whole lot of principle to get where they are.

Having said that, there is a lot of excitement behind Obama because after 8 years of perceived tyranny and shame people are actually going to try and do something about it. You hear a lot of people bitch about Bush but most of them either A) voted him in either first or second time or B) didn't vote at all. thats just lame.

I'm seeing, from the news reports that get filtered through hundreds of hands to reach my nightly news, a sense of optimism that's been missing in politics for a long time.

Can I just say though, We had a similar push to a "New and shiny" leader a while back in my country, and so far it's not looking so good. be careful what you wish for. Different =/= better.
