    Let's not forget, the predecessors of Carter essentially were supportive of the ousting of democratically elected Prime Minister of Iran, who was replaced by the Shah, which in turn spurred the Islamic revolution.

    This was not Carter's fault.

    He might have been a nice guy and all, but he essentially cut all the social programs, throwing many of the mentally ill onto the streets and spent billions on Star Wars.

    Not to mention his reputation of being "slick" as nothing stuck to him.
