    PC Monitor Advice

I need a new monitor since my 17" Dell unit packed up and i have been using a MASSIVE Dell CRT monitor ever since. I know very little about this market so i figured that the collective brains of the vast UCP membership could help me out here.

Basically what i am looking for is a flat panel monitor, widescreen, 17" or more, 19" would be nice. My budget is around £100, i could push up to £120, i know its quite tight so thats why i am asking here. Is there anything out there that could also service my Xbox 360 aswell as my PC?

Fire away! Or tell me my budget is stupid and i should just forget it.

BenQ FP22W 22″ Widescreen LCD Monitor $278 Shipped

We have 5 of this one at work and I work on one every day.
They are around 180 pounds in Norway, so I guess you can be able to find it much cheaper in UK (?).
Brilliant screens for a cheap buck imo.

19inch TFT Monitor : TFT Monitors : Monitors at cheap prices from Novatech.co.uk : Monitors :

    take your pick.
Am not connected with the comapnyb, but have used them quite a lot.
An excellent returns policy -- worth checking up before making ANY on-line purcahse.
Some unscupulous dealers offer "cheap" monitors aas they are known to have 1 or 2 dead pixels. This is legal GOOD suppliers make it clear!!

I strongly push everyone I know into buying a Samsung monitor, because they're almost universally brilliant. Especially the 22" widescreen, but that may be a little over budget. I think they have some with composite input and maybe HDMI, but I'm not sure.

The trick is to do research ... Samsung supply panels to many manufacturers
My LG is running a Samsung by choice for example !!

I have found 19" Samsungs to be not as good as 19" HP monitors. Users complain about blurriness at higher res compared to the 19" HP screens. (i dont know who makes the HP panels, probably samsung )

I am not sure what to go with still.
All the Samsung ones are way out of my price range, and i tried trying to find out who Samsung supply screens too but my research skills are obviously lacking. I found a nice Acer screen on CCL Online, i would link you but i am using my PDA during lunch at work so its a bit difficult. Any horror stories about them? There was another nice one on that website but the make escapes me now.

19" is huge compared to 17".

I think 19" is a good size to go for.
