    Watches in Florida

hey all, brother is going to Florida for his holiday this summer and I would really appreciate your help

Basically, he wants to buy a Breitling Navitimer Chronograph and I'd like to know where to buy one and how much it will cost. Any recommendations?
    Thanks a lot.

Florida's a pretty large state.. can you narrow it down to a city or area he's staying in?

He will be flying into Tampa, but during his stay will be travelling all over, hence me not really saying.

Watch out for the tax though. But hey, with that exchange rate, it'll still be a damn sight cheaper than English prices.

I don't know if Florida has the ungodly-high sales tax I have where I live (8.75%! :O ;D) but he might want to browse the airport stores too.

I think it's slightly lower (8.65) in NY. Still pretty high though.

Didn't know that it was such high taxes in the UK. What percentage is it?

    Edit- Just checked, it's 8.375.

In case anyone cares, in Canada it's now 13% (down 2% since 2002).

Yeah, basically he knows it'll be much cheaper there because of the dollar's value, and so decided he'd like to get one out there. If he doesn't, he'll probably end up getting a Tag, but because we don't know any stores (like Beaverbrooks/Goldmiths in the UK) in US, we can't really search around.

Delaware has no state tax at all because DuPont provides much of the states tax money which is crazy! I want to get an Omega Speedmaster!

If all else fails, check out Macys.

Macy's - Clothing, Shoes, Bed & Bath, Kitchen, Beauty Brands & Sunglasses

They have cheap clothing - bought a North Face jacket for 30 bucks.

Like KotR said, Macy's is usually pretty solid when it comes to jewelery, as well as Nordstrom and Fortunoff (if they have em down there), as long as the store is quite large. In Florida you'll be looking at 6% tax rates.

Thanks a lot guys. That Macy's website doesn't seem to have any info on the Breitling, but i guess he can have a look down there. He was absurdly close to getting a breitling from Quattro's link delivered to his best mate's flat in USA... Will wait and see what he does.
