I've been waiting all summer to get one, and it sucks, to be honest.

    Cool first car.

I think my first car is going to be a 98 Ford Escort wagon.

Not the most amazing car, but it'll do.

    Amazing room in the back.

A couple quibbles though- the gas gauge is totally inaccurate. There currently is only 1 available key for it. And the rear tires are shot. And I really would have preferred any Subaru wagon over it (or insert any other Japanese 4 banger). But, since I didn't pay for it, I'm not complaining.

Assuming same mpg for sedan and wagon you should go 300miles on a tank, my dads gas gauge is broken too. No tach, and if my dads car is anything to go by, a speedo thats on the fritz. Only thing that always works is odometer

I've seen 190E 2.6s with manual gearboxes. Very appealing car in my opinion.
Lack of charisma can be fatal.

Never available here in manual (few Mercs were) so thanks Ferrer for the tip!

Yep I'm a fan too. While waiting to pick my car up at the local Merc specialist the other day I drooled over what appeared at first glance to be merely an immaculate, plain white 190E, wearing those attractive & discrete AMG Hammer monoblock mags. Only the small 3.0 badge on the bootlid gave it away

This looks like a bit of fun!

Not sure if you guys have really picked up on just how cool that conversion is. Fitting the engine is cool, but fitting all of the stuff to make the ASD2 suspension system work as well as the trick hydraulic diff lock from the SL600 is amazing. Have a good look at the tops of the struts in the engine bay. The car has fully adjustable suspension MB style, not just some crude air bag system.
